One Ordinary Day

I love saying yes to things I’ve never done. “One Ordinary Day” falls under this category. My hope is to capture the moments that, in years to come, remind you of the connection you have with your family. What the hugs felt like, how the silliness made you giggle,  and how their joy increased yours.

I have been a photographer for 16+ years and have been blessed to capture countless hugs, smiles, silliness, and love.  The people in these photos have grown up, graduated high school, gotten married, had babies, and, as a photographer for special-needs families, a few have walked into heaven.

We’ve all heard that “babies don’t keep” and it’s so true. The dimpled hands, feather-soft hair, big eyes and the tender hugs from small arms change and grow and mature. It’s our goal as parents to nurture that growth and yet it is the thing we miss most.

This is where my new offering, “One Ordinary Day” comes in. For 3-5 hours I will be a fly on the wall to document the details of the everyday moments. From bedhead through breakfast, schooling and playtime, the teaching moments, the snuggles, hugs, giggles, and all the silliness.

My hope is that one day you will look back at these photos and remember the way your spouse greets you with a kiss, the softness of your child’s tiny hands as they reach for yours, how your little one fits in your lap during storytime. And the million other little things that are unique and make your family yours.

*Thank you Brodericks for allowing me to follow you around for some sweet moments. I'm so thankful I was a witness to the way you are raising your children to be kind, patient, wise, Godly humans.
